Kevin Shan, Crop Insurance Manager, and Karen Pitcher, Insurance Specialist were recently welcomed to the Peoples State Bank and Peoples Insurance Services teams. Kevin brings more than 25 years of experience in agricultural banking. This background, combined with his first-hand farming experience, gives him a unique knowledge base for determining the best coverage for customers. Karen’s 6 years of experience in insurance include home and auto, policy renewals, modifications and claims, as well as administration of the crop insurance department in her previous role.

“We are excited to welcome Kevin and Karen to the team. Karen’s extensive knowledge of insurance, particularly crop insurance, will assist Kevin’s efforts to serve our customers,” said Stacy Moore, President of Peoples State Bank.

Kevin received a Bachelor degree in Finance from Eastern Illinois University. He lives in Olney and works with his father on the family farm in Richland County. Karen is a life-long resident of Jasper County and is excited to serve her friends and family in the local community.

Kevin and Karen both keep office hours at the Newton location of Peoples State Bank. The additions of both enhances the already-robust staff that serves customers across eight locations in five Illinois counties.
