Newton (July 15, 2020) – Dustine Smithenry was recently named Assistant Vice President at the Peoples State Bank of Newton, focusing on agricultural-related lending. He joined the Newton team in 2019, finding his footing nicely among ag, commercial, consumer and residential lenders.

“Dustine has shown an ease of working with customers and brings prior experience and expertise in the ag industry. For those and other reasons, we knew he would make a great Assistant Vice President,” said Brett Lessley, Executive Vice President and Senior Lending Officer of Peoples State Bank.

Smithenry graduated from Newton Community High School and Olney Central College before attaining his Bachelor of Science in Finance from Eastern Illinois University. He and his wife, Kim, reside in rural Newton with their sons. They enjoy playing sports together.
